San Fairy Ann are the oldest and one of the largest cycling clubs in Kent with over 300 members. Our clubroom is in Maidstone but many members live in the surrounding area, from Dartford to Ashford and Sheppey to Cranbrook.
We pride ourselves on being a friendly club - no-one is allowed to come to the clubroom and stand alone in a corner! If you decide to come and join one of our Saturday or Sunday Social rides, the other riders will make you feel very welcome. If you are at all apprehensive or not very experienced, there will be plenty of encouragement and advice
We organise and take part in almost every form of cycling - racing, touring, off-road, long distance and social riding. We also enjoy a range of social activities off the bikes. Have a look at the List of Events to get an idea of just how much we get up to (or at least what we are prepared to reveal on a website!). The photos also illustrate many of these.
As well as the listed events, there are also club rides every Saturday (6 groups) and Sunday (2 groups). Between them we cater for riders of all abilities.
The club owns 2 tandems and a child's trailer bike that are available for members to use. There is no charge, just a £50 returnable deposit.
In addition to purely club activities, we are also heavily involved in the Kent Cycling Association, Cycling Time Trials, British Cycling, the Veterans Time Trial Association and Audax UK.
A lively and informative monthly 32 page magazine keeps members up to date. This is included in the annual membership cost of £17.50 (£5 for those under 18).
Come along and try us - you can ride with us for a few weeks before deciding whether or not to join.
